Global Dialogues (GD) are a series of events happening around the world - bringing together individuals, organisations, networks and countries to explore the potential of an equitable and thriving future. The GD intention is to also support shared understanding of, and the emergence of new synergies and collaborations for the key actions to get us there. The event is a democratic process that truly engages all sectors of society in a deeply participatory and experiential process to awaken a deep desire and motivation to co-create a future and society where both people and nature can flourish.
Currently the GD are being planned in over 17 countries. The outcomes of each dialogue will be fed into the GD online platform (available mid April) and wil be put together into ONE international report to be presented to UNCSD during Rio+20 Conference in June. This report will inform political leaders of the voices and visions of the people, thus guiding them to take decisions in line with the future we as a society, want to create together. The Global Dialogues will culminate into the Rio+20 side event called a 1.000 Tables Dialogue. People around the world will be invited to host Global Dialogues simultaneously and, with the help of technology, connect to the main event in Rio.
