Global Dialogues most often takes form of a 5 hour event (including light lunch and refreshments). During a Global Dialogue we move through 5 steps: Connect, Envision, Engage, Reflect, and Share. Through these steps participants explore the kind of future and society they want; and what it is that we need to learn, change, and act on to co-create this kind of society and future. The facilitators guide participants to talk about these questions in pairs, individually, big group or in the smaller groups. Participants thus get to move around and contribute with their ideas to different groups of people each time.
During the dialogue the team of harvesters takes notes and observes emerging patterns. They gather the ideas, feedback and wisdom of the groups and bring this together in what is called a "Visual Harvest". The Visual Harvest provides people with a powerful visual for presenting the collective wisdom and experience of the group. After the harvester’s presentation participants are given the time to give their feedback and share their experience of the day.
At the end of the process, participants are encouraged to form action-teams with those they feel naturally aligned and inspired to continue their co-creative explorations with.
